Terms of service

These terms govern a merchant's use of Simple Stupid: Required Fees (the "App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these terms and Shopify's applicable terms.

The service

The App lets merchants configure mandatory deposits, regulatory charges, and required surcharges as Shopify product lines and validates their presence at checkout. The App does not determine whether a fee is lawful or required in any jurisdiction.

Merchant responsibilities

You are responsible for configuring accurate fee rules, clearly disclosing charges to buyers before checkout, choosing appropriate tax treatment, enabling the App's theme integration, testing your store, and complying with applicable law and Shopify's policies.

The App must not be used for optional add-ons, hidden or deceptive charges, tips, donations, gift wrap, protection, insurance, warranties, offsets, or other charges that require buyer consent. We may disable a non-compliant rule or suspend access for material or repeated misuse.

Plan, billing, and cancellation

The App offers one plan at $8.99 USD every 30 days, with a 7-day free trial and all features included. Shopify manages App approval, billing, applicable taxes, renewals, and cancellation through Shopify App Pricing. You can cancel by uninstalling the App. Except where required by law or Shopify's policies, charges already incurred are not refundable.

Availability and changes

The App depends on Shopify and third-party infrastructure. We may perform maintenance, modify features, or discontinue the App. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when practical.

Privacy, ownership, and feedback

Our privacy policy explains how the App handles information. You retain ownership of your store data and configuration. We retain ownership of the App, its software, branding, and documentation. You allow us to use feedback you voluntarily provide to improve the App without obligation to you.

Warranty and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Termination

You may stop using the App by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end access for misuse, non-payment, legal or security risk, or violation of these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
