Simple Stupid Apps
Privacy policy
Effective September 10, 2026
This policy explains how Simple Stupid Apps ("we") processes information when a Shopify merchant installs or uses Simple Stupid: Required Fees (the "App").
Information we process
The App processes only the information needed to provide its service:
- the merchant's Shopify shop domain, authentication session, access token, approved permissions, and store currency;
- fee-rule settings and the identifiers and titles of products or collections the merchant selects; and
- identifiers for App-managed fee products and limited operational logs used to secure, diagnose, and maintain the service.
The App does not request or store customer names, postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, order records, payment-card information, or buyer browsing profiles for its fee-rule functionality.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate merchants, configure and synchronize required fees with Shopify, operate and secure the App, diagnose errors, comply with legal obligations, and respond to support requests. We do not sell merchant or customer information.
Service providers and international processing
We use Shopify to connect the App to merchant stores and Google Cloud to host and monitor the service. We may also use managed database and email providers to operate the App and answer support requests. These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments, and information may be processed outside the merchant's province, state, or country.
Retention and deletion
Shopify sessions are removed when the App is uninstalled. Remaining shop configuration is deleted when Shopify sends its mandatory shop redaction request. We retain limited operational logs and backups only as long as reasonably necessary for security, reliability, legal, and recovery purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymized under our providers' retention schedules.
Security
We use encrypted network connections, access-controlled production systems, isolated application credentials, and provider-managed security controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
Merchants can uninstall the App through Shopify Admin. To request access, correction, or deletion, or to ask a privacy question, email support@simplestupidapps.com. We may verify the requester's identity and store authority before disclosing or changing store-specific information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required.
